About Me

Meet Crystal at From Root to Roost

Hi, I’m Crystal, the owner of From Root to Roost Farmstand and Bakery. I’m so glad you’ve found my little corner of the internet. Here you will find recipes for replacing processed, store bought staples with whole, nutritious ones; tips and tricks for gardening in zone 8a; ideas for keeping chickens on a budget (no fancy-pants designer coops here); and real time farmstand dates and offerings.

I grew up on a farm in South Carolina. Many years later I am a mother of 3 grown children and a couple bonus children living in a small town just outside of Atlanta, Georgia. My husband and I bought a property of a little over five acres in 2021, planted our first garden, purchased our first chickens, and the rest is history. I guess you could say I’ve rediscoverd my roots. I’ve learned so much since then and I’m excited to share that with you through this website and through our farmstand!
